A week in Colonial Quito - With Spanish Lessons

This ininerary assumes you arrive on a Saturday evening

Day 1 (Saturday) - Airport pickup and transfer to your apartment

Day 2 (Sunday) - Free to explore Colonial Quito; Art market open at Parque Ejido

Day 3 (Monday) - Morning Spanish lesson in your apartment; Afternoon guided walking tour of Colonial Quito

Day 4 (Tuesday) - Morning Spanish lesson; Afternoon free

Day 5 (Wednesday) - Morning Spanish lesson; Afternoon real estate tour of seleted properties

Day 6 (Thursday) - Morning Spanish Lesson; Afternoon time with one of our bi-lingual representatives according to your interests; Options include:  Shopping; Introduction to contacts - medical/dental, bankers, lawyers, embassy people; Anything of interest to you

Day 7 (Friday) - Morning Sapnish lesson; Afternoon free

Day 8 (Saturday) - Transfer to Airport

Pricing Information:

$  600 - with basic apartment - covers 1 or 2 people

$  720 - with mid-range apartment - 1 or 2 people

$1,040 - with first class apartment - 1 or 2 people

Notes:

• The overall price is the same for up to 2 people; there is a supplement for more than 2 (that's right - the price for 2 is the same as the price for 1)
• Price will vary depending on apartment availability / selection; each apartment is a different price
• Hotel stay is an option, but will cost more for the same quality
• Homestay with Ecuadorian / American family may also be an option
   

Quito and the Manabi Pacific Coast

 This sample tour provides time in Quito as well as a great introdiction to the incredible Pacific Coast of Ecuador.  We have selected the Mantaraya Lodge with its beautiful Mediterrean style as you base of operations on the Coast.  Among the activities available is a visit to Isla de la Plata which has been compared to the Galapagos for its bilolgical diversity

Day 1 - Arrive in Quito; Airport pickup and transfer to your apartment.

Day 2 - Select two optional four hour activities for Quito (see list below).  Overnight in you apartment.

Day 3 - Transfer to Quito Airport.  Flight from Quito to Manta. Immediate departure by bus to Machalilla National Park, visiting on the way Montecristi village, famous “Panama Hats” manufacturers.  Accommodation at Mantaraya Lodge.  Lunch and in the afternoon, visit to the Salango Museum. Back to the hotel, briefing and dinner.

Day 4 - Breakfast. Full day visit to Isla de la Plata. Walk on trails. Box lunch. Swimming and snorkeling. Sailing back to Puerto López to Mantaraya Lodge, briefing and dinner.

Day 5 - Visit to Los Frailes beach (snorkel). Lunch and early departure by bus to Manta to take the return flight to Quito.

Day 6 - Select two optional four hour activities for Quito

Day 7 - Additional four hour activity - if time allows - and transfer to the airport

Quito and Northern Sierra Province of Imbabura

This is a seven day / six night adventure combining Colonial Quito with the Northern Sierra Provence of Imbabura.  We include this a sample itinerary because it has been requested by many of our visitors.  This trip combines four nights in Quito with 2 nights in an Imbambura hacienda.

Day 1 (Wednesday) - Airport pickup and transfer to your apartment.

Day 2 (Thursday) - Two four hour optional activities (see list below).  Overnight in your apartment.

Day 3 (Friday) - Morning four hour option.  Afternoon, depart for Imbambura in your private van with driver.  Overnight in a beautiful hacienda.

Day 4 (Saturday) - Morning visits to the Otavalo Indigenous market and the Cotocachi leater market for shopping in.  Lunch at Hacienda Chorlavi with Folklorico Ballet.  Afternoon visit to village of San Antonio de Ibarra - famous for wood carving.  Overnight in your hacienda.

Day 5 (Sunday) - Check out of the hacienda.  A full day tour in your private van to include visits to volcanic Lake Cuicocha, the waterfalls at the Indigenous community of Peguche and to thermal springs at Chachimbiro (or perhaps only 2 of these depending on time spent).  Late aftetnoon return to your Quito Apartment.

Day 6 (Monday) - A morning and an afternoon optional activity.  Overnight in your apartment

Day 7 (Tuesday) - Transfer to the airport
