Santa Clara Straw Market;
          Furniture, Household Items - Great Prices;
                              You can be a Furniture Designer

The Santa Clara Market is located in Quito New Town just north of the Mariscal district; it is a $2 taxi ride from Colonial Quito or just about anywhere else.  It is a great place to buy furniture and other household items made of straw, bambu and wood.

 Santa Clara Market - Street Scene

It is a Lot of Fun just to Look

Look at What we Got!

We have purchased several furniture pieces for our Colonial Quito apartment at the Santa Clara market.

 This Bambu Shelf Unit Works out Great in a Corner

You can be a Furniture Designer

There are many shops at Santa Clara with a lot of selection.  However, if you don't see exactly what you want, talk to the shopkeeper - changes can be made, or whole new concepts;  just grab a pencil and an old envelope and draw it out.  It can be ready in a few days.

Bringing it Home

Getting your furniture home anywhere in Quito is not a problem; there are trucks ready for hire on the street.

 Cost to Hire a Truck - about $10; and You Save the $2 Taxi Ride Back

Would you like to visit Quito and Become a Furniture Designer?
